It has taken Tanya 26 years to get here, but she has only gone and done it!
Tanya tells us "a very kind friend of mine started me on the journey by gifting me some money towards the course, her kindness will never be forgotten. It's people like Mary and her kindness that makes this world a better place and I can only hope I can use my skills to help others too. The thing that really amazed me was with all the years I have studied different therapies, nothing was to new. I am so glad that I have been on the right path and can now bring it all together and can start practising."
Tanya thought she had found my umbrella with Emotional Intelligence "but how wrong was I?" Somatic Healing is the umbrella, bringing everything she has studied into one place.
Tanya completed a wonderful course with Certified Excellence and thoroughly enjoy it. What she liked the most was how relevant the tools and techniques are for anyone, with or without ADHD. Self Management and Organisation skills are the main themes that run throughout this coaching process.
"In 2008, It took 6 months to tell my husband and my close circle (including doc) that I was depressed and having Panic Attacks. It took 18 months to tell everyone else.
Tanya identified as Autistic for a long time and so when she got diagnosed with Mild ASD in 2024 it wasn't a surprise.
However she was also diagnosed with sever ADHD and that has floored me, she was in total shock. "I'm not upset about it just so shocked. I have never resonated with it, thought about it or been interested in it. It's a form of denial and my sub-conscious way of protecting me. I didn't need protecting from ASD. " she states.
Tanya has the female version (some males have this version and some females have the male version) and this is the boring type, so little is known about it. The Male version interests the media because it holds more 'horror story', it's more appealing to the audience.
Tanya uses supplements, exercise, stress reduction, therapy, sleep and diet. She had the titration period with medication and has this as a back up plan for when needed.
Tanya says "at least I have two advantages over others 1) I have ASD which acts as a calmer for HD and 2) I am a trained Counsellor and can therapy myself (there are times I will need to turn to others)".
Over the years Tanya has been described as:
Good Listener; Deep thinker; Lovely; Reflective; Caring; Quiet and Serious; Good sense of humour
Knowledgeable; Cheerful; Artistic; Makes you feel safe; Patient; Reliable; Honest and Trustworthy
Inspiring; Calming influence; Organised; Conscientious; and Observant.
She is a person who I know I can rely on.
