About Tanya part 2

Tanya is the founder of balancing Belle.  She has been designing it since 2021 and brought Kristina and Lilia into the fold in 2025, as it was ready to launch.

Tanya tells us "a very kind friend of mine started me on the journey by gifting me some money towards the course, her kindness will never be forgotten. It's people like Mary and her kindness that makes this world a better place and I can only hope I can use my skills to help others too. The thing that really amazed me was with all the years I have studied different therapies, 26 years, nothing was to new. I am so glad that I have been on the right path and can now bring it all together and can start practising."

In 2008, It took 6 months to tell her husband and close circle (including doc) that she was depressed and having Panic Attacks. It took 18 months to tell everyone else.

Although she believe she told people she felt ill in 2018, she did not feel she had articulated it well enough for people to care and ask how she was or to notice how sick she was.  After 3 months of being mentally and physically ill and wanting to end the pain by ending her life, she went to the docs and within a month (usually takes 2 years) got diagnosed with ME/CFS and a month later received Psychotherapy (that can take 2.5+ years).  Tanya was so ill that one of the top consultants in the country came to see her and diagnose her. People still say it couldn't have been him, and Tanya offers to show them her diagnoses with his autograph on it (apparently he had stopped seeing patients).  Only then did everyone realise the extent to what she was dealing with.

Tanya is now also diagnosed with AuDHD.  It has been suggested that the late diagnoses is her fault because she is known as the queen of masking and no one does it better than her.  Tanya identified as Autistic for a long time, but when she got diagnosed with ADHD it floored her, she was in total shock. "I'm not upset about it just so shocked. I have never resonated with it, thought about it or been interested in it.   It's a form of denial and my sub-conscious way of protecting me. I didn't need protecting from ASD. " she states.  Tanya uses supplements, exercise, stress reduction, exposure therapy, sleep and diet techniques.  She had the period required with medication, to find the right dosage and use these as a back up plan for when needed.  Somatic healing is her first priority.

Over the years Tanya has been described as a: Good Listener; Deep thinker; Lovely; Reflective; Caring; Quiet and Serious; Good sense of humour; Knowledgeable; Cheerful; Artistic; Makes you feel safe; Patient; Reliable; Honest and Trustworthy; Inspiring; Calming influence; Organised; Conscientious; and Observant.

Confidence

I confuse my confidence with that of others.  I have confidence in myself but when others display a lack of confidence in me, I somehow twist this and feel I am the one that is not confident.

Some people boost confidence in us and others take it way.  Some even think they are being kind/supporting you and don’t realise they are caging you, even insulting you.

I did a confidence test recently thinking I would fail and actually I passed and am pretty high in confidence.  Self esteem was low and again that comes from what others allow you to do or how they make you feel.  Even with the best intentions they pull the rug from under you.

Sometimes I think people even reflect their own confidence issues onto others, maybe they aren’t that confident and so treat you like you aren’t.  They project their fears/worries/concerns onto you instead as the one feeling these things.

I am not confident in everything but that should be for me to decide and do something about, not for

others to judge me on.

Pain Management

In 2018 I suffered pain throughout my body.  My skin hurt so much I begged my GP to cut it to relaese the pressure.   I feel I have a understanding for those that self harm by cutting, as the need to relaese was immense.  I was diagnosed with Chronic Pain as a result of ME/CFS.  I was given pain killers and referred to the NHS Pain Management Clinic.

In 3 years I had had very little interaction with the Pain Managment Clinic.  Mainly due to Covid 19 and the lock downs, but I had two appointments a year apart and then a further year apart they offered me some acupuncture.  I refused and self discharged from the service because by this time (2022) I had had enough of waiting and being in pain that I took a Centre of Excellance Pain Management Practitioner course and became a practitioner myself.  (https://www.centreofexcellence.com/shop/pain-management-practitioner-diploma/)

I was walking with crutches by this point and had just purchased a wheelchair, I was ready for life in a chair.  However after the course my life changed.  I still have pain but I only occassionally wear compression socks and walk with a walking stick or Nordic walking poles (if hiking...yes hiking).

I have learnt to embrace my pain, to see it as a teddy bear giving me a hug.  I feel it, I take note of it and I find a place to rest it out.  For example if out walking I find a cafe, or picnic spot, to have a drink and rest stop.

I have gone from Co-codomal 4 times a day with Ibroprofren 3 times a day to hardly ever taking any at all.

This week on my Mindfullness course I am again learning about pain management with the same concept, turning towards it and embracing it.  I have put links to a couple of videos for you to watch but there are many more great ones available. (https://palousemindfulness.com/index.html)

God said ”now it’s your turn to take care of yourself”

My amazing daughter who has stood up to adversity and come out the greater person and is now Balancing with Belle's Virtual Assistant

I spent 4 years fighting the education system on my daughter’s behalf (and would do it again and again) and many years before that trying to get her the recognition she deserved.  When the fight came to an end (well seriously reduced, continued fighting until recently) it’s as if God said ”now it’s your turn to take care of yourself” and I released how tired I was, how much pain I was in and how lost and lonely (even with loads of people around me) I felt.  I had a moment where I thought my husband and the Kids would be better off without me, I could walk into the sea and walk to Disneyland Paris.  My body wouldn’t make it but my soul would. With the help from my Bishop, his counsellor, support group, GP, OT and Therapist I overcame those thoughts.  5 years on I have learnt how to balance my life, how to care for others, how to ask for help and how to care for myself.  I don’t live off adrenaline anymore and I don’t allow others to put me in that position.  I care for myself so that I can better care for those around me and I am a much better person for it.

We have decided to remove the kids EHCPs. This is the end of our hell, the LA and Education system are meant to help parents but they drain us and leave us suicidal.  I am so glad our fight is over.  My daughter is about to start work and my son’s school are now amazing.  We have got through it with love and support from practitioners, support groups, friends and family.

The system can not be blamed for my M.E./CFS but the fight certainly aspirated it and made it worse.  That and climbing pen y fan in Wales

All under one umbrella

For the past year or so I have wanted to bring all my qualifications and credentials under one umbrella.  I thought NLP would do it but it didn’t WOW me.

I recently came across Emotional Intelligence (EI).  Well I came across it years ago, but again it didn’t WOW.  Exploring it this second time I am blown over by it.  I can not get enough of it.

I think everything is right in it’s time and place and will not completely write NLP off.   I am sure it will have it’s moment to shine.  However it does fit under the EI umbrella nicely.

Emotional Intelligence =

NLP

CBT

Inner Child (Ego)

Mindfulness

Meditation

Ancestral Healing (Believe and influences)

Crystal Healing, Reiki, Reflexology and Religion (Energy, vibrations and spiritualism)

I use these for my own self care,as well as, incoperating them in my Exclusive teir.

Facing my fears

I am so proud of myself today.

First I had a pretty sleepless night but I managed to stay in bed, not pacing the living room floor, trying to talk myself out of a panic attack.  I was excited about facing my fear of my upcoming journey but it felt so normal.

And second I got on a bus by myself for the first time in about 9 years.  I did feel sick, I did have a couple of loo breaks before leaving the house but got on the bus and sat down fine.  Only issue, last couple of stops someone sat next to me.  I counted each breath and stayed focus on the road in front, whilst listening to my audio book.  Why do buses feel like tiny boxes.

I did all this without any medication.

I am finding my independence again.

Meet Tanya Part 1

This is to tell you all about me. I am a humble, honest person and what you see is what you get. I dont expect my participants to hold any thing back with me and so I won’t from them either.

I work with my participants, by helping them to reflect, build their confidence and help them to solve the problems that they are facing, so they can make the necessary improvements in their lives.

My Timeline

I have always been recognised as a calm person in a crisis and able to solve problems swiftly.  A situation arose in primary school that saw me mimicking the behaviour of the teachers, rather than those of the children, who rightly so, were traumatised.

I continued to be this person throughout my life, helping friends through difficult times.  I even found myself, in secondary school,  being a listening ear to my teachers. I learnt about confidentiality very early on in my life.

In 1997 at the age of 21, I started my career (not one I chose, it just landed in my lap) in childcare, as a trainee nursery nurse, until professionally 2014.  I worked in various settings including nannying, nurseries, schools, children’s homes, assessment units, NVQ assessor, university guest lecturer and finishing as a childminding.

From 2014 I have home educated and therapyed our daughter, who was forced out of the formal education system due to having Autism and being bullied (usual story of punishing the victim and not the perpetrator). From the age of 16 she started her own business and is about to start work as a Youth Practioner for the charity Kids.

Also from 2014 I ran a Community Interest Company for 4 years providing activities for other home education families. Here I had the privilege of meeting families from different backgrounds with varying physical and emotional needs.

In 2018, I started volunteering for the local M.E/CFS self help group (a condition my son and I have) in order to re-launch and build the group. In 2022 I turned it into a CIC and become one of the two Directors.

In January 2021, I decided I wanted to use all the skills I have learnt throughout my life, though Belle Avec Tanya, to continue to help those that need a listening ear and to understand and come to terms with the changes that they desire to make in their lives.
